As I get ready for work tonight, I stopped for a moment to read what my Papa is saying to me and I wanted to share. Lately the Lord has been encouraging me to share my writing's with others. So below is a poem that I wrote for Advent and performed at church! I hope you enjoy!  Wars waged Blood shed Sacrifices made Only to be left with feelings of abandonment Hearts aching and yearning for more Turning to senseless idols for moments of pleasure and peace Only to be devoured by empty passions Day in and day out pleading for a savior Resulting from centuries of captivity and unrest   And then finally one night   Lying in a manger, born to a virgin was a promise fulfilled Stripping away all majesty and glory  Becoming the most vulnerable of mankind… Driven by love  Unashamed by our sins Making beauty from ashes His love knowing no limits  Mercy no boundaries  He paid it all Betrothing Himself to us for eternity Forever His And He forever ours

She Slays She walks with confidence Head held high, Eyes lifted to the heavens She is seated with her maker in heavenly places She ravishes her Father's Heart, And she knows it! She joins Him at the table because He calls her by name and He knows her Who is this, you may ask? Her name is Starlight Slayer Starlight because she goes into some of the darkest places on earth Where the orphans lie, Where the dead are left to die,  Where Satan has tried to claim his territory. She goes, and she brings light Slaying the darkness with the light of her Father Trampling over demons Shining and speaking the words of her Father Singing the song He's placed uniquely and specifically in her heart!

"All who are thirsty. And all who are weak, come to the fountain. Dip your heart in the stream of life. Let the pain and the sorrow be washed away in the waves of His mercy."  This is my heart's cry this morning. My heart is weak and my spirit is sad. August has been a hard month for me. August 1st was my mama's birthday. I didn't realize it until an hour before getting ready for work, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. For those of you who may not know, my mama passed away six years ago the day after her birthday on August 2nd. So when I realized it was her birthday, I was automatically reminded of the anniversary of her death. No words could possibly explain the pain and sorrow I felt after loosing her. She was my best friend. Sure we argued and bickered, but she was my first love as a child. She was my first tangible representation of love and there was not a thing in this world she would not have done for me or my two brothers. So when she died, I felt l...

Faithful you are God; all your promises are yes and amen!  This is my hearts declaration as I sit here remembering all the ways God has been and continues to be faithful in my life. So many doors have been opened for me, opportunities out of no where presenting itself, people coming into my life loving me unconditionally, dreams coming to pass, and the list could go on. All glory be to God! He is truly honoring, loving, caring, holy, and faithful. And tonight I wanted to remind all those who read my blog of his faithful promises.... This weekend marks my 5 year Anniversary of choosing a life with Jesus and accepting the most precious and sacred gift that has ever been given to me!  To celebrate, I AM IN COLORADO!!!! I've dreamed of going to Colorado for some time now and here I am in the middle of winter with a view from my bed that no picture can do justice!!! (Ahhh!!! Isn't Jesus sweet!!)!  I plan to soak in every moment of this weekend. Allowing myself to be captivated and romanced by the ultimate lover of my soul! I hope everyone reading this enjoys their weekend!
